Care for a Clean Environment - March 2023

[Fr] Le Rotary Club Le Réduit était présent aujourd'hui au rond-point de l'Hermitage, sur l'autoroute de Verdun, pour sa campagne mensuelle de nettoyage. Sous la direction du vice-président Suren, nous avons ramassé environ 65 kilos de déchets.

Nous avons été rejoints dans cette entreprise par deux Rotariens du Rotary Club de Moka, notamment Rotarien Zubeyr et Rotarien Akshay. Après le nettoyage, le vice-président Suren a organisé une petite collation au cours de laquelle du thé chaud et des en-cas ont été distribués à tous les bénévoles. L'un des objectifs de ce nettoyage est de sensibiliser la population au problème des déchets et nous sommes heureux de constater que, lentement mais sûrement, les gens sont sensibilisés. L'une de ces personnes s'est arrêtée à Hermitage aroundabout, nous a remerciés pour notre travail et nous a donné les déchets qu'elle avait ramassés.

[En] Rotary Club Le Réduit was present today at Hermitage roundabout, Verdun highway for its monthly clean up campaign. Under the leadership of Vice President Suren, we collected around 65 kilos of garbage.

We were joined in this endeavour by two Rotarians from Rotary Club of Moka, Rotarian Zubeyr and Rotarian Akshay. After the clean up, VP Suren organised a small fellowship whereby hot tea and snacks were distributed to all volunteers. One of the goals of its clean up is to sensitize the population about littering and we are glad to note that slowly but surely people are being sensitized. One such person stopped at Hermitage aroundabout, thanked us for our work and gave us the garbage he had collected.
